R.I.P.: Nick Cannon Mourns The Loss of Youngest Son, Zen
By Paige Boyd, Managing Editor
One thing is for certain, no one deserves to bury a child, especially right before the holidays.
On Tuesday's episode of his eponymous talk show, entertainer Nick Cannon announced that he is mourning the loss of his 5-month-old son, Zen Scott-Cannon, who passed away on Sunday (Dec. 5) from a form of brain cancer.
Zen, Nick's youngest son (with former Wild-N-Out model Alyssa Scott) was diagnosed with hydrocephalus (a build-up of fluid in the brain cavities) as well as a malignant brain tumor at just 2 months, after his parents noticed that he had an ongoing cough and a slightly enlarged head. He underwent surgery to have a shunt put in to drain the fluid from his brain, but sadly, things took a turn during the Thanksgiving weekend. Nick described the final months of his son's life to his audience, which you can see above.
Sending love and prayers to Nick, Alyssa, and their families.
