Georgia Becomes Home To New Black Wall Street Market

By Paige Boyd, Managing Editor

After months of delays, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a highly-anticipated marketplace is now open for business in Georgia. The New Black Wall Street Market in Stonecrest, an Atlanta suburb, was shown off in late October, with over 10,000 people entering its doors. Located near the Stonecrest Mall, the marketplace is home to over 100 shops and restaurants, representing the spirit of the original Black Wall Street in Tulsa, OK, which was ultimately destroyed in a massive race massacre a century ago.

The official website states, "As an extension of the Allen Entrepreneurial Institute, the New Black Wall Street Market shares its mission: to increase the size and number of minority and women-owned businesses throughout the United States and Globally. This new retail experience fosters operational excellence in areas such as product offerings, systems utilization, presentation and customer service. Training / acceleration, marketing / advertising and online sales support are some of the features available to merchants inside the Market."

Soft-Open hours for the New Black Wall Street Market begin November 12, opening Friday through Sunday, from 11am to 8pm. The Grand Opening is set for Black Friday. For more details, visit www.newblackwallstreet.co.
