Blende Magazine Remembers "The King of The Blues"

Legendary blues guitarist B.B. King passed away on Thursday of last week at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 89. His death was reported to the AP by his attorney, Brent Bryson, who confirmed King had passed away.

King leaves behind an incredible legacy. Born in Mississippi, he began his career in the '40s and would become one of the greatest musicians in American history, rightfully earning the title, "The King of Blues." He was also known for his prolific touring schedule, performing close to 300 shows a year earlier in his career.

Among some of B.B. King's more notable accolades: 15 Grammy awards, the most recent in 2009 for his album, One Kind Favor. King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, as well as the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame​ in 1980.
